The objective of this paper is to better understand consumers\' attitudes, expectations and behaviour toward probiotic milk products in selected European country. The method used for data collection was a structured online questionnaire. The survey revealed an important functional correlation between consumers and probiotic dairy products in terms of their beneficial effects on digestion and overall health. In addition to the good taste that consumers recognized in probiotic dairy products, the quality and naturalness of the product, which is expressed in the attributes \"natural aroma\" and \"free of artificial colours,\" are also important. The aforementioned attributes have proved to be crucial for the future communication strategy of probiotic dairy products. Consumer attitudes show that there is an opportunity to position probiotic around holistic health.

The subject of research in this paper is the analysis and presentation of data on agricultural holdings, the structure of available and utilized area. The main goal is to determine and explain more comprehensively and in detail, by using appropriate methods, and based on available data, the condition of utilized agricultural area and its characteristics by utilization categories and ownership structure of holdings. The importance of this research arises from the fact that the results on utilized agricultural area can be used to adopt appropriate measures and undertake certain activities in land and overall agricultural and rural policy related to sustainable utilization, arrangement and protection of agricultural land and more balanced integrated development of rural areas, as well as to find better solutions in the field of utilization, ownership sector and conditions of agricultural area management.

In this study, the use of these vegetable solid residues was suggested as adsorbent for olive mill wastewater (OMWW) clean-up. To improve their adsorption capacity, these vegetable solid waste underwent thermal treatment by a process on two-steps: carbonisation at 300 ºC and 400°C and physical activation at 800 and 1000°C. Their characterization was determined by FTIR, TGA/DTA, and N2 adsorption-Desorption at -196 ºC Techniques. The efficiency of these new bio-adsorbents was verified on OMWW. Experiments of adsorption kinetics are realized with these bio-adsorbents and diluted OMWW (1/100, v/v), at room temperature. The evaluation of activated carbons obtained (ash, iodine value and moisture) shows a good activity and stability in weight according to thermogravimetric analysis. In addition, the textural results of BET surface area show high area for activated carbons from olive stones prepared at 300 ºC/800 ºC (SBET = 208, m2/g) and olive flesh prepared at 400 ºC/1000 ºC (SBET = 77,8 m2/g). The adsorption rates of OMW are 91 % after 120 min, and 95,3 % after 60 min of contact and pH = 2, respectively. At end of adsorption, the pH increases to neutral value. Purpose of the Study. The study is aimed at the analysis of the fundamental structure, functions and self-preservation attitudes and manifestations in the behavior of youth and adolescents in human ecology-aware contexts during the COVID-19 pandemic.\nBackground. Against the backdrop of the COVID-19 pandemic, there has come up an insufficient psychological readiness of young people of many countries, including the Russian Federation, for self-preserving behavior under the threat of an infectious disease with high virulence. The results of the study make it possible to assess the possible risks and develop preventive measures for correcting the social orientation of youth and adolescents towards maintaining health among individuals and social groups of young people.\nStudy Design. The article presents the results of an empirical study of the cognitive, conative, emotional, evaluative, and stimulating components of the self-preservation attitudes of adolescents and youth. It is shown how the latent dysfunction of the attitude towards maintaining health and impaired self-preservation behavior in the relatively safe period of 2010–2019, manifests itself as a predisposition to the behavior that poses a threat to human health and survival during the COVID-19 pandemic. A comparative analysis of the structure, functions and phenomena of self-preservation attitudes of young people before and during the pandemic has been made based on empirical studies of the authors conducted in the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation within the period of 2010–2019.\nParticipants. 600 respondents in the city of Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad region were examined during the period of 10 years (2010–2019). They comprised secondary school children aged 12–16 (20%), and men (34%) and women (46%) being university and college students majoring in humanitarian and technical fields of study aged 18–24.\nMethods. The authorial methodology “The Readiness for Self-Preservation Behavior” in comparison with the data analysis within the contexts of the COVID-19 pandemic which were available to access from the Internet, open global media sources, public records, and the official sources.\nResults. The dysfunction and weakness of the self-preserving attitude is caused by the low level and inconsistency of the cognitive, conative (behavioral), emotional and evaluative components in the structure of the self-preserving attitude settings for different spheres of life in adolescents and students in the Kaliningrad region, as well as a lack of behavioral experience that strengthens the social orientation for human ecology among young people.\nKey Findings. The low psychological readiness of young people to maintain health and display human ecology behaviour during the COVID-19 pandemic was manifested by irrelevant behavioral phenomena: the neglect of protective equipment and hygiene measures, as well as the open and veiled resistance to the self-isolation regime.\nKeywords: attitudes, social attitude, self-preserving behavior, COVID-19 pandemic.

Flooding is a phenomenon that cannot be prevented. Some human activities, such as the growth of settlements and economic assets in the floodplains, as well as the declining natural capacity of the soil to retain water caused by land use and climate change, are key factors in increasing the likelihood of floods and their adverse effects. The study is based on the data published in the National Statistical Institute Annual Reports, aiming to analyse and summarise the cases of floods in the urban areas in Bulgaria. The flood risk in the country in the period 2007-2018 is assessed for the urban areas near 19 hydrometric stations (HS). The flood index K is used to determine the areas with the highest sensitivity to floods as well as to extreme floods with significant adverse effects. The results have shown that only particular areas occasionally show high sensitivity to floods. As an average, however, for the study period, there is no area (HS) with river basins that are very sensitive to floods (K≥0.3) for the investigated period (2007-2017). Seven of the nineteen HS are sensitive to floods: Glozhene (HS2), Targovishte (HS6), Varna (HS8), Sofia-Orlandovtsi (HS12), Yambol (HS15), Burgas (HS17) and Kardzhali (HS19).

In this work, the adverse effects of BDE-209 on mosquitofish (Gambusia affinis) were evaluated. Acute toxicity bioassays were carried out with daily renewal of solutions, using different concentrations of environmental relevance ranged between 10 and 100 µg.L-1 of BDE-209. After 48 and 96 h of exposure, mortality, individual activity (swimming), biochemical activity (Catalase, CAT; Thiobarbituric Acid Reactive Substances, TBARS; and Acetylcholinesterase, AChE), and genotoxic responses (MNs) were studied. In addition, integrated biomarker response (IBR) and multivariate analyses were conducted to study the correlation of biomarkers. The calculated lethal concentration (LC-50) remained constant after all exposure times (24 to 96 h), and the corresponding value was 27.79 μg L-1 BDE-209. Furthermore, BDE-209 induced effects on the swimming activity of this species in relation to AChE, since BDE-209 increased, produced oxidative damage at the biochemical level and genotoxicity after 48 h of sublethal concentrations (10 and 25 μg of BDE-209 L-1) of exposure. The results show that BDE-209 has biochemical, cytotoxic, neurotoxic and genotoxic potential on G. affinis. In addition, mosquitofish can be used as a good bioindicator to evaluate BDE-209.

The banking sector is the bedrock of the Nigerian economy, and this industry is known to have contributed in no small measure to the development of the economy. This industry has been experiencing a phenomenal performance decline whereby the banking institutions could not meet their financial obligations to their customers and stakeholders, which led to the liquidation of many banking institutions, and the crisis of confidence by the general public. Many deposit money banks have mission statements, but employees of these banks failed to act in line with the mission of the organization. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of mission statement on profitability of selected deposit money banks in Lagos State, Nigeria. Survey research design was adopted, 484 staff of 5 banks in Lagos State were sampled and data collated. Linear regression analysis was adopted and the result shows that Mission Statement had positive significant effect on profitability (β = 0.446, t = 11.019, R2 = 0.215, p < 0.05). It was concluded that Mission Statement affect the profitability of selected deposit money banks and it was recommended that management within the banking sector should address the laid down plans in order for employees to have better understanding on what they are to do.

Nowadays, many products are manufactured and produced by nanoparticles. Process development and product development is involved on nanotechnology. Nanostructure materials show emerging functions that have extraordinary benefits when applied to medical devices. The medical applications of nano particles includes drug delivery, medicine, pharmaceutical aerosols, and in medical diagnostics and screening purposes of diseases like cancer. It is useful in other fields like ophthalmology, blood purification, Nano diagnostics, and in Nano therapeutics. Most of the products in the market such as cosmetics, electronics, medicines and foods are made by using nanotechnology. It has better-quality drug targeting and bioavailability, diagnostic imaging, biomarker detection sensitivity, and drug-delivery efficiency. There are many challenges and toxic effects of nanoparticles and also in nanotechnology which are discussed in this paper.

Concentration of Industrial waste water effluents discharged should be within an acceptable range to support biological activities of the environment. Hence, monitoring of water quality parameters such as temperature, Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical oxygen Demand (COD), Dissolved Oxygen(DO), pH, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), Total Solids(TS),Turbidity is essential to assess and keep within safe level. In this paper, real time monitoring of textile effluent is gathered using sensors connected to Raspberry Pi. Data are transmitted over the wireless channels that are prone to error. Among many wireless threats, data mutability enables unauthorized personnel to modify the generated data and provides false information to authorized personnel. Decentralized Block chain is proposed as potential solution to mutable record and unauthorized access permission. Interplanetary File System (IPFS) protocol is used in this work for secure sharing and storing of data through content-addressing in decentralized Block chain Network. Implementation with Ethereum is carried out and the overall cost involved is measured.
